How activists pushed bank to divest from private prisons

Citizens Bank has divested from CoreCivic and GEO Group, the two largest private prison companies that operate many immigration jails for ICE. The move comes amid sustained pressure by activists and after Jersey City pulled over $250 million of municipal funds from the bank, an effort led by Democratic Socialists on city council.
