Assam Flood Death Toll Hits 80 | 2 Lakh Still Affected As Flood Crisis Continues

The flood situation in Assam continues to remain serious despite signs of gradual improvement. According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority, the death toll has now risen to 80 after two more people lost their lives in Sivasagar district. Both victims reportedly drowned in floodwaters, including a young boy. More than 2.12 lakh people remain affected across Charaideo, Golaghat, Jorhat and Sivasagar districts. Among them, Charaideo remains the worst-hit district with nearly 80,000 affected residents, followed by Sivasagar with around 71,000 and Jorhat with over 40,000 people impacted.
