The brazen, masked, “smash-and-grab” robbers, who broke the window of a jewellers in broad daylight and made off with more than £200,000 worth of jewels, have been jailed. Deniz Mehmet, 28, Robert Clarke, 50, and Lee Ramsey, 46, all of Essex, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery after a sledgehammer was used to break the window at the shop in Paved Court, Richmond, south-west London, on January 31. The robbers made off with £225,000 worth of jewels, the Metropolitan Police said. Further footage released by the Met shows officers bursting into the bedrooms of Clarke and Ramsey to arrest them during the early hours of March 31.
