Former MEP Ben Habib demands an uncompromising border crackdown after crowds of migrants crossed from Morocco into the Spanish enclave of Ceuta. Habib says armed police should intercept those entering illegally and send them back, declaring there should be “zero sympathy” for the crossings. He claims Europe’s laws protect those breaking through its borders rather than its own citizens. Turning to the Channel, Habib brands Britain’s payments to France a “disgrace” and calls for fast boats, drones, sensors and trained personnel to intercept migrant vessels and return them to France.
