A day after formally quitting the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA), former Gender Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa met Siaya Governor James Orengo, one of the leaders of the Linda Mwananchi Movement, further fueling speculation about her next political move ahead of the 2027 General Election. Speaking after a private meeting with Orengo at her Kakuyuni home, Jumwa said she is ready to work with like-minded leaders for the benefit of Kilifi County, the Coast region and the country at large. She, however, did not confirm whether she will formally join the Linda Mwananchi Movement, saying she is still consulting her supporters before announcing her next political step. Governor James Orengo said the meeting focused on plans to work together in mobilising support across the country under the Linda Mwananchi Movement.
