An estimated 49,000 migrants have reportedly crossed into Ceuta from Morocco in the last 24 hours via land and sea, overwhelming local resources. Spanish authorities responded by sending additional security forces, while the deaths of migrants attempting the crossing were also reported. This comes after Spain's Supreme Court ruled this month that migrants stopped at sea while trying to reach Ceuta or Melilla, another Spanish enclave, cannot be summarily returned to Morocco.
