Mexican businesses are facing higher costs and supply chain disruptions as trade negotiations with the United States continue. Small manufacturers and wholesalers say tariffs on imports from non-free trade agreement countries have driven up prices for textiles and other goods, while changing regulations have added uncertainty. Although the U.S. has extended the deadline for a broader trade agreement with Mexico by 90 days, analysts say businesses remain concerned about future trade policies and continued pressure on Mexico to tighten restrictions on imports.
