Palestinian residents are sceptical about Israel’s commitment to a ceasefire in Gaza despite US President Donald Trump’s guarantee in exchange for the disarmament of Hamas fighters. The militant group announced it would hand over its weapons to a Palestinian authority on the condition that Israeli forces withdraw from large parts of Gaza and the weapons will be stored in the enclave.
