8 people killed in a road accident along Mwea-Embu highway

At least Eight people die in a serious road accident at Murubara along the Mwea-Embu highway in Kirinyaga County. According to Mwea-East Sub-County Police Commander Stephen Okal, the accident happened at around 6:00 am on Saturday. It involved a parcel truck which collided with a tuk-tuk that was heading towards Ngurubani ferrying farm workers who were going to plant rice at Mwea irrigation research area. Residents decried the poor state of that section of the road which they claim has turned into deadly blackspot.
