A section of stakeholders are now pushing for tailor-made programs to support adolescent mothers, most of whom are falling through the gaps of stigma and economic strife. The push comes following a 4.9% increase in teenage pregnancies over the last one year. In Nyamira County, an economic empowerment model for mothers aged between 15 -24 is emerging as a silver lining aimed at averting repeat cases by offering comprehensive education.
