Let's now turn to the latest twist in the saga involving FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who has been forced into a major U-turn after a controversial plan to sell stakes in the World Cup and other FIFA competitions to private investors. Infantino had given member associations until the 19th of September to support the proposal, with a reported five billion shilling incentive for those who backed it. The investor group was expected to include Joshua Kushner, the brother of US PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP'S SON IN LAW, but after days of intense global backlash, Infantino has abandoned the plan.
