“The shutting down of Jodrell Bank is obviously a complicated decision. I don't deny that, but I think it is a mistake.” Former royal astronomer Lord Rees has said it would be a mistake to close the Jodrell Bank Observatory. Rees says that the observatory could also be used in the defence of the country. Lord Rees was speaking to Adam Boulton on Times Radio. Listen live every Sunday, 10am-1pm.
