A Qantas flight from Sydney to Santiago, Chile was forced to turn around four and a half hours into the journey after a mechanical issue with the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The aircraft, carrying almost 200 passengers on flight QF27, diverted to Melbourne landing at 11pm due to Sydney's curfew restrictions. Passengers were accommodated in hotels overnight before being rescheduled on a midday departure from Melbourne to Santiago.
