A two-storey brick wall collapsed at a construction site on Wattle Street in Ultimo, trapping two men and causing widespread damage to nearby vehicles and buildings. The incident occurred around 11am at a site being demolished for a new student accommodation complex, with heavy machinery having torn down parts of the building just 20 minutes before the collapse. Both injured workers were hospitalised with neck and leg injuries, while several others narrowly escaped harm, including a food delivery rider and a worker who had stepped away moments before the wall crumbled.
