Iran is advancing regional diplomacy while maintaining strategic leverage over the Strait of Hormuz. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said talks with Oman on a maritime framework for the waterway are in their final stages, while Tehran continues consultations with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan on regional security and stability. However, Iranian officials stressed that the talks with Oman are bilateral and not part of negotiations with the United States, warning they do not guarantee the Strait of Hormuz will reopen. Tehran says the waterway will not return to pre-war conditions, accusing Washington of carrying out attacks against Iran before an agreed timeline expired. The developments reflect Iran's dual-track strategy of expanding diplomatic outreach while maintaining deterrence and keeping the Strait of Hormuz as a key source of strategic leverage.
