Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is likely to introduce the Taxation and Other Amendment Bill, 2026, in the Lok Sabha today or on Tuesday, according to sources. The Bill will replace the Income-tax (Amendment) Ordinance, 2026, and is expected to bring several key tax and financial reforms. Among the proposed changes are income tax exemptions for foreign investors investing in Government Securities (G-Secs), amendments to the Payment and Settlement Systems Act that could impact notified digital payment modes and the levy of charges, an extension of tax exemptions for foreign companies supplying capital goods to Indian contract manufacturers, and tax relaxations for leased data centres operated by Indian companies. In this video, we explain the proposed amendments, what they mean for taxpayers, investors, businesses, and India's digital payments ecosystem, and why these reforms matter. #NirmalaSitharaman #IncomeTax #TaxBill #LokSabha #Budget2026 #DigitalPayments #GSec #FinanceBill
