Athletes from across Canada and around the world braved rainy conditions to compete in the ultimate test of endurance at the Ironman Canada triathlon in Ottawa. CTV's Kimberley Johnson reports that 23-year-old Kiyan Sunderji crossed the finish line first with a time of 8:26:53, calling the gold medal a realized childhood dream. Spectators like Christopher Lindsay lined the gruelling route, ringing cowbells and cheering as athletes tackled the 3.8-kilometre swim, 180-kilometre bike ride and full marathon. Last year's winner Luke Evans finished in second place just 11 minutes after Sunderji, while thousands of remaining competitors pushed toward the midnight cutoff.
