Susan Hall condemns the growing number of homeless encampments across London’s West End, including Park Lane and Warren Street. The Sun reports that makeshift camps have appeared across London’s West End, stretching from Warren Street and Euston Road to Park Lane, Marble Arch and Oxford Street. Residents, hotel workers and shopkeepers allege that some rough sleepers have been involved in public drug use, street drinking, intimidation, urination and shoplifting. Some wealthy Park Lane residents have reportedly hired private security. One encampment resident said most people at his camp were Romanian nationals and welcomed Prime Minister Andy Burnham’s pledge to end rough sleeping. Official figures recorded 13,231 people sleeping rough in London during 2024/25—a 10% annual increase and the highest total recorded by the CHAIN system. #news #london #home Have you got a story?
