A 43-year-old mother of two, Nurhayati Purwanto, has died after being struck by a car while crossing the street in Lakemba last Tuesday. The 82-year-old driver has not been charged, with police awaiting blood test results and a mechanical check of the vehicle. Another pedestrian, a 64-year-old man, remains on life support following the same incident.
