As a child, Zihao Han watched animals suffer and waited for a hero who never arrived. Today, he is that hero. After an unexpected encounter with a stray cat, Zihao stopped waiting and built "Parallel Universe," a self-funding sanctuary for animals. This is the story of how an ordinary person created an endless safe haven, becoming the exact hero his younger self once needed. Zihao Han is a Gen Z innovator who left the entertainment industry to revolutionize animal rescue in China. He pioneered a self-sustaining model by founding "Parallel Universe," a network of cat cafes and mountain retreats that funds animal care through business rather than relying on traditional donations. As a leader in the China Small Animal Protection Association, Han is building a practical, science-backed framework for true human-animal coexistence. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
