A cargo ship reports it has been hit by a projectile off the coast of Oman in the Strait of Hormuz. The ship suffered damage, but no other details were provided. The attack comes while the United States and Iran made opposing claims about peace talks. A Senate committee is expected to advance acting Attorney General Todd Blanche’s nomination to lead the Justice Department. The vote Tuesday follows a deal struck between Blanche and GOP Senators John Cornyn and Thom Tillis, who threatened to holdout if Blanche did not provide certain assurances. And authorities in Guatemala have ordered evacuations around the Fuego volcano, which is erupting. Guatemalan officials confirmed the eruption started Monday morning and intensified throughout the day. The Guatemalan Seismology Institute reported a lava fountain up to 1,000 feet high.
