A boat carrying 157 migrants caught fire while attempting to cross the English Channel, forcing passengers into the water. French and British vessels rescued everyone, with no casualties reported. The migrants had departed Normandy the previous day. Authorities say boats are becoming larger and increasingly overcrowded, with an average of 65 people per dinghy this year. Fourteen people have died attempting the Channel crossing so far in 2026. Peter Cardwell interviews International Security Expert, Henry Bolton. #EnglishChannel #Migrants #MigrantCrisis #ChannelCrossing #SmallBoats #UKMigration #France #UKNews #BreakingNews #MigrantRescue #ChannelCrisis #EuropeNews Have you got a story?
