Labour MP Graham Stringer joins Kevin O’Sullivan to challenge Prime Minister Andy Burnham over the early release of prisoners and the continuing Channel migrant crisis. Graham calls for emergency secure units to prevent dangerous offenders being released because of overcrowding, arguing that criminals should serve the sentences handed down by the courts.  He also says those arriving illegally by small boat should be told they will not receive asylum and should receive only basic accommodation while awaiting removal. The Labour MP dismisses promises to “smash the gangs” as ineffective and warns that Burnham must stop the crossings if he wants to win the next election.  Have you got a story?
