Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi denied Wednesday that Iran is currently negotiating with the US over the Strait of Hormuz. He described discussions with Oman as strictly bilateral. “The US claim that negotiations with Iran are currently underway is false,” he told Iranian official media in a televised interview. “There have been no negotiations.” President Donald Trump said earlier Wednesday that the Strait of Hormuz would be reopened “soon” or he would launch a harsh new attack on Iran. 0:00 Iran's deputy FM: No talks with US underway over Strait of Hormuz 0:16 Former Trump admin Defense Secretary Mark Esper on statements from Oman and Iran 1:44 How does depletion of US weapons affect US leverage in negotiations? 5:18 Is the Trump admin globalizing their diplomacy? 5:55 Iranian state media casts doubt on Trump's claim of Strait reopening 6:33 Middle East expert Rosemary Kelanic reacts Watch 24/7 live news with CNN Headlines: https://bit.ly/4eIvlTr #IranWar #Stra
