The scattered X-Men quickly unite and track him down to New Orleans, where Remy LeBeau has laid a trap for his old allies in the Thieves and Assassins Guilds, converting them into deadly underlings. Driven by his corrupted state, Gambit attempts a dark ritual involving his former fiancé Bella Donna and the Eternal Candra to secure an artifact that would make Rogue immortal.
