PC Andrew Harper’s mum has said she felt “crushed” when she discovered that her son’s killers were eligible to be freed from prison early under the government’s early release scheme. Debbie Adlam said she has “gone through every emotion”, but feels “better now in that I don't feel quite so alone”, as a petition to prevent their early release exceeded 440,000 signatures. Speaking on the devastation of her son’s death, she said, “it lives in your bones”.
