Social policy analyst Dr Rakib Ehsan has warned of a major safeguarding risk as 9,371 domestic abusers are reportedly set to be released early over the next three years. Speaking to Kevin O’Sullivan, Rakib warned that some offenders may target more than one woman, while children could also be left living in fear. He urged the Government to expand prison capacity rather than release dangerous offenders prematurely. He said: “The Labour Party has talked about clamping down on violence against women and girls. It has to prove that by keeping domestic abusers incarcerated.” Have you got a story?
