How Speedrunners Broke GTA Vice City To Beat It In 8 Minutes. GTA Vice City. Arguably one of the most beloved and influential games in the entire GTA Franchise from Rockstar Games. And due to its mainstream success when it was released back in October of 2002, the game has still gone on to have a very competitive speed run scene even today. By the fall of 2016 had been lowered to just around 53 minutes. But on August 1st of 2016, something had been discovered that took the record from 53 minutes, to just 38 minutes. And after just 24 hours of this discovery, the record now sat at just 17:23. Nearly 40 minutes shaved off an hour-long run, in 1 day. But what’s crazier is that today in 2026, GTA Vice City can now be completed in less than 10 minutes. But how is it even done?
