Farmer jailed for murdering lodger and hiding remains in barrel for six years

A farmer who murdered his lodger, dismembered his body and hid the remains in a concrete-filled barrel for six years, has been jailed for 33 years. Christopher Wright, 73, was found guilty in July of murdering his lodger Richard Dyson, as well as conspiracy to pervert the course of justice, prevent unlawful burial and firearms offences. Mr Dyson, who had been living in vehicles on Wright's farm in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, was reported missing in November 2019, but his remains were only discovered in July last year.
