Health Secretary Yvette Cooper has admitted “there’s no good answer” when it comes to prisons, as the outcry over the government’s early prisoner release scheme continues. Speaking after PC Andrew Harper’s mother told Good Morning Britain that she felt ‘crushed’ that her son’s killers would be eligible, Ms Cooper said “it’s a really difficult situation”. “We have to make sure that you can put people in prison today if they are picked up for dangerous crimes”, the health secretary said.
