Former Metropolitan Police commander Roy Ramm has welcomed the decision not to bring misconduct proceedings against the firearms officer who fatally shot Chris Kaba. The officer was previously cleared of murder after a court heard Kaba used a car as a weapon whilst attempting to escape an armed police stop. Speaking to Ian Collins, Roy condemned the four-year process and highlighted the devastating impact prolonged investigations can have on officers and their families. He said: “This officer did his job. We have to find a mechanism that brings the facts together quickly and does not hold officers suspended for four years.” Have you got a story?
