An 18-year-old Melbourne schoolboy was attacked with machetes by two offenders at JW Manson Reserve in Wantirna while checking his phone. The victim was thrown from his electric bike, slashed repeatedly across his back and stabbed in the shoulder before the attackers fled with his e-bike and mobile phone. He underwent multiple surgeries and spent nearly a week in hospital recovering from the savage attack, which left him with permanent scars.
