Large numbers of Japanese citizens gathered to mark the 81st anniversary of the US atomic bombing over Hiroshima on Thursday, calling on the Japanese government to uphold its Three Non-Nuclear Principles and oppose the export of lethal weapons. In a significant policy change in April, the Japanese government revised the three principles on transfer of defense equipment and technology and their implementation guidelines, allowing the export of lethal weapons in principle, and thereby opening up markets for Japan's military industry. Demonstrators warned that sending weapons abroad could fuel conflicts and draw Japan into war, and they want Japan to remain committed to peace and reject policies they believe increase the risk of war. #japan #hiroshima #worldnow 📺 Subscribe to our YouTube channel and stay updated with our latest analysis and interviews:👇 https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgrNz-aDmcr2uuto8_DL2jg 👈 Download our APP on Apple Store (iOS): https://itunes.apple.com/us/app
