Winning is exciting. But according to AISB student Kamila Gilmanova, the moments that help us grow often happen long before the final result. Kamila shares a practical lesson she has learned through sport: confidence is built in small moments. Showing up when you are tired. Trying again after a mistake. Continuing when things feel difficult. Drawing from her own experiences in ice skating, football, and basketball, she reflects on how sport helped her navigate pressure, setbacks, and self-doubt. Her message is simple and relatable: the habits we build in everyday moments often shape us more than the achievements we celebrate later. This is a student-to-student reflection on perseverance, confidence, and the value of small everyday wins. Kamila Gilmanova is a student at the American International School of Budapest. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
