In a piece he co-authored with Nancy Youssef for The Atlantic, Jonathan Lemire reports that, due to the war in Iran, the country’s stockpile of long-range weapons is too diminished to combat a threat in Asia, officials say. Lemire tells Morning Joe the shortage is “a significant problem” that’s also “informing the president’s thinking.” He reports the U.S. has considered escalating the conflict in Iran to bring leaders to the negotiating table, but there are fears there aren’t enough munitions to defend a counterattack in the region.
