Your brain is not broken. Your world just got very, very loud. AISB student Dakshita Sharma explores a challenge many young people know well: the feeling of constantly being busy, overwhelmed, and distracted, yet somehow never having enough time. Having lived and studied in multiple countries, Dakshita noticed a pattern that seemed to follow students everywhere. The problem was not a lack of ambition or intelligence. It was the growing competition for our attention. Using a striking visual exercise inspired by the idea of measuring life in weeks, she examines how school, screens, expectations, and daily routines quietly shape the way we spend our time—and why protecting our attention may be one of the most important skills young people can develop. Rather than offering another productivity hack, Dakshita invites us to reconsider what deserves our focus and how we define success in an increasingly noisy world. Dakshita is a recent graduate of the American International School of Budapes
