Sylas offers a way to find and trust your own voice amid the constant noise of modern life. Hi! I am Sylas Zhou. Just one year ago, I was a student in a public school, navigating a completely different world. Now, as a Grade 8 student at BASIS, I’ve realized that although we are in a relatively laid-back environment, the pressure to "fit in" stays the same. I’m a storyteller who captures life through a lens. After reaching over 3 million people with my videos, I’ve seen firsthand how easy it is to get lost in the world of noise—the comments, the grades, and the filters we use to hide our true selves. I chose to stand at the TEDx stage because of my deep passion for speech and a personal mission: to persuade my friends and classmates to stop being constrained by the fixed things in life. In a world that tries to box us into perfect grades and filtered photos, I want to show you that being "perfect" is the most boring thing you can be.
