A coalition of 25 states has launched a major lawsuit against the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump, challenging its use of Section 301 forced-labour tariffs as an unconstitutional trade tax. It comes as Trump's Aug. 19 deadline for the introduction of tariffs on Canada fast approaches, with trade talks now expected to take place daily, the CBC has learned.
