Bolivian President Rodrigo Paz on Friday led a military parade in El Alto marking the 201st anniversary of the country’s Armed Forces, his first such ceremony since taking office in November 2025. More than 5,000 military personnel from the Army, Air Force and Navy took part in the event, where Paz, carrying a sabre, administered the oath to the flag as commander-in-chief. Defence Minister Ernesto Justiniano praised service members for working in difficult conditions and highlighted the military’s role in emergency response, including reopening roads, creating transport corridors and delivering food, medicines, oxygen and humanitarian aid.
