A devastating tragedy has shaken Thailand after a 14-year-old student, identified by police as Patchat Yimruang, launched a deadly shooting spree in Nonthaburi province, just northwest of Bangkok. The horrific chain of events began on Friday morning, August 7, 2026, when the teenager fatally shot his two grandparents at their family home in the Bang Bua Thong district using his grandfather's legally registered 9mm CZ-75 Compact semi-automatic pistol. The shooter then proceeded to his high school, the prestigious Debsirin Nonthaburi School in the Bang Kruai district, where he opened fire on teachers and staff.
