The Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA) has urged political leaders to tone down early campaigns, warning that heightened politicking is overshadowing service delivery with a year to the 2027 General Election. Speaking on Friday, PCEA Moderator Rev. Thegu Mutahi called on leaders across the political divide to focus on delivering on the mandate entrusted to them by Kenyans rather than prolonged campaigning. The church also took issue with recent assertions that the IEBC could postpone the General Election, insisting the commission must uphold constitutional timelines.
