Serbian protesters gathered outside the presidential palace in Belgrade on Saturday to demonstrate against Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's first official visit to Serbia, holding anti-Zelensky placards, banners depicting Russian President Vladimir Putin, and signs accusing Zelensky of killing his own citizens in Donbass, with demonstrators calling for fresh Ukrainian elections. Protest leader Nebojsa Corovic, president of the We Strength of the People movement, described the visit as simply unacceptable for the Serbian people, who share what he called a long tradition with the Russian people, and characterised Zelensky's presence in Belgrade as a pure betrayal of those ties.
