Remnants of the village of Somang have reemerged in a reservoir that is drying up amid prolonged drought in the Indonesia. The village, located in Banten province, was submerged as part of the Karian reservoir project, which was built between 2015 and 2023 to supply water to the Greater Jakarta area. However, four months without rain have lowered the water level, revealing houses, a mosque, and other buildings in the former residential area.
