Ian Collins and director of Popular Conservatism, Mark Littlewood, take aim at Prime Minister Andy Burnham’s cost-of-living tour, questioning whether his £2 bus-fare cap, removal of VAT from domestic electricity and business-rates relief will provide meaningful help. Littlewood accuses the Government of relying on “gimmicky” announcements instead of cutting taxes and public spending. He argues that Burnham will avoid radical immigration reform to prevent a rebellion from Labour’s left-wing backbenchers. Littlewood claims Britain’s current “business model” is to export millionaires while importing welfare claimants. He calls for immigrants to be net contributors to the Exchequer and warns that the country faces an increasingly difficult problem involving people who have arrived but are “not pulling their weight”. #news #politics #immigration Have you got a story?
