Authorities in Russia say a Ukrainian drone strike on an oil refinery killed 13 people and wounded 75 others. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says the drone attack, which occurred 750 miles from the Ukrainian border, is aimed at forcing Russia to the negotiating table. An Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson said Iran will not reopen the Strait of Hormuz until the United States meets its demands. Iran wants the U.S. to lift a blockade of its ports and financial compensation. The closure of the Strait of Hormuz has become the war’s most lasting consequence. And Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dismissed a Gaza deal announced by President Donald Trump last month, saying Israel’s military “will not carry out any withdrawal until Hamas is genuinely disarmed.” Trump had said Israeli forces would withdraw as Hamas’ disarmament is completed.
