We are told that AI is our future. We praise every new feature learned by AI chatbots making our lives significantly easier, but its environmental cost is rarely talked about and may even be unknown. This talk reveals the hidden ecological impacts and footprint we leave behind with every AI search we carelessly make. Anna is currently a student who loves spending time outdoors and exploring nature. As a student, using AI has become very common and until recently, she wasn't aware of the ecological impacts of using AI like many of us. Upon finding out, she was determined to find a way to share with friends and others about the impacts that we cause carelessly simply from not knowing. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
