The state of New Mexico is suing the Justice Department arguing the federal government blocked the state's ability to investigate the sex crimes of the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein at a ranch there. New Mexico’s Attorney General Raul Torrez sued the DOJ because federal leadership refuses to hand over unredacted files linked to crimes at Epstein's Zorro Ranch. The federal government’s stonewalling violated a 2019 agreement with New Mexico that requires two-way communication on the Epstein investigation in exchange for state officials’ standing down on their own inquiry. The Morning Joe legal panel discusses the fallout.
