India's mutual fund industry witnessed a sharp turnaround in July, recording net inflows of ₹2.36 lakh crore compared with an outflow of ₹52,949 crore in the previous month, according to AMFI data. The industry's net assets under management rose to ₹85.8 lakh crore from ₹82.2 lakh crore month-on-month. Fixed-income schemes were a major driver, attracting ₹1.87 lakh crore after witnessing an outflow of ₹1.09 lakh crore in the previous month. Active equity schemes continued to attract investor money, although inflows moderated to ₹24,697 crore from ₹28,973 crore. Within equity categories, small-cap funds saw inflows jump to ₹7,768 crore, while mid-cap funds attracted ₹6,192 crore. Large-cap funds, however, recorded an outflow of ₹1,322 crore.
