Extreme heat health alerts have been upgraded to amber for most of England as temperatures are set to climb again this week. Only the North East is not covered by the warning, which runs from 9am on Tuesday to 9pm on Friday. Parts of the UK are set to see their fifth heatwave of the summer as the country continues to bake in an unprecedented period of dry, hot weather. Monday will be slightly cooler before temperatures rise again on Tuesday. “We’ll probably see highs reaching the mid-30s quite widely on Wednesday, and on Thursday too for England and Wales,” Met Office meteorologist Tom Morgan said. • Subscribe to ITV News on YouTube: http://bit.ly/2lOHmNj • Get breaking news and more stories at http://www.itv.com/news Follow ITV News on TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@itvnews?lang=en Follow ITV News on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/itvnews/ Follow ITV News on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/itvnews/ Follow ITV News on X: https://twitter.com/itvnews
