Political commentator Charlie Rowley has warned that British politics has become increasingly toxic amid growing concern about the abuse and threats faced by public figures. Joining David Bull, Charlie said there could be no justification for physically attacking politicians, regardless of how strongly people disagree with their views. David also recalled being physically confronted during his time in public life and argued that political debate should focus on ideas rather than personal attacks. The pair later discussed Labour’s reported poll lead over Reform UK and whether a government departing significantly from its election manifesto should seek a fresh public mandate. Rowley said: “There is no defence or justification for anybody who physically assaults anybody, let alone someone who is in public life.” Have you got a story?
